Follow Me
Do you want to serve me? Yes, I want to serve you. Will you follow me to where I will lead you? Yes, I will follow you to where you will lead me. Will you do whatever I ask of you? Yes, I will do whatever you ask of me. Let me make sure that I am hearing you correctly. You will follow me even though you do not know where we are going? That’s right, I will follow you not because I know where we are going. I will follow you simply because it is you who are leading me. You are enough of a road map for me. You know where we are going. That is enough for me. My direction, my course and my way through life will be in your hands. With you leading me, I have nothing to worry about. You will guard and guide and lead my life. All my faith and trust is in you. That is very good.
You will also do whatever I ask you to do even though you have no idea what that might be, is that correct? Yes, I will do whatever you ask of me even though I don’t yet know what that might be. I know you have a purpose and plan for my life. You have given me gifts, talents and abilities that you want me to use to serve you. You want me to be able to bear fruit for your kingdom and bring glory to your name. You will make good use of my life. Nothing you have given to me will go to waste as I follow and serve you. I will be able to accomplish your purposes and fulfill your plans by going and doing whatever you give me to do for you. Yes, you will.
How will you follow me? I will draw near to you. I will listen to your voice. I will ask for your direction. I will follow your guidance. I won’t run ahead of you. I won’t fall behind you. I won’t turn to the right or to the left. I will keep my heart and mind and life focused on you. Here I am right now. I’m watching. I’m waiting. I’m listening. Lead on, I will follow. Guide the work of my hands, I will serve you. Make me able to bear fruit for your kingdom and bring glory to your name. Help me to accomplish your purposes and fulfill your plans. Yes, I will.
Lord, you will not find me off on my own doing my own thing. Not anymore. Now, I will follow you to wherever you lead me. Now, I will do whatever you ask of me. Use me as your servant. Help me to know and do your will. Help me to live my life fully for you. Amen
