How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? Your Words
How do you feel about that? How do I feel about what? How do you feel about being sent? How do I feel about being sent where? You are a little slow to grasp what I am trying to say to you. How do you feel about being sent to talk with people who do not know me? How do you feel about being one of my witnesses in the world? I thought I already was one of your witnesses in the world. Yes, you are one of my witnesses in the world. Your life does shine brightly in the world for me. How you live your life is a testimony to the work that I have done in your life. Your actions provide a firm foundation for your words. Your words are what I want to talk to you about. I’m listening.
Somewhere, somehow, you have picked up an incorrect idea. What’s that? You have thought that how you live your life is enough of a testimony and witness for me in the world. It’s not? No, it is not. To many, your life will simply say that you are an unusually nice person. You are kind. You are considerate. You are caring. Is that all you want your life to say? You have also incorrectly thought that the way you live your life will speak enough volume that others will wonder why you are so different that they will ask you questions. You have thought that when those questions are asked, it will be your opportunity to share the Good News of the Gospel. Is what I am saying true? Yes, it is true, those have been my thoughts. Let me ask you, how many people have come to ask you why you live your life so differently? Not many, hardly any. That’s true.
Do you want to be a vibrant witness in the world for me? Yes, I do. Then your testimony must come from both your actions and your words. You must look for opportunities to tell others about the life of salvation that they can have in me. You must not be afraid to speak. You must be willing to share with others all that I have done for you and will do for them. Did someone tell you about the Good News of the Gospel? Yes, they did. Did they speak to you only though their kind, considerate and caring actions? No, they did not. Their words told me why they had so much faith and hope and love in them. They told me how you became their Savior and Lord. They told me how they received your forgiveness and cleansing. They told me how they came to love, follow and serve you. Yes, they did. Will you use your words to tell others about the life of salvation they can have in me? Yes Lord, I will. That will be very good.
Lord, thank you for sending people into my life to talk to me about the Good News of the Gospel. Without others telling me about the new life I could have in you, I would be lost and without hope. Use me to talk to others about the new life they can have in you. Amen
