This, the first of his miraculous signs, Jesus performed at Cana in Galilee. He thus revealed his glory, and his disciples put their faith in him. John 2:11 (NIV)
Faith In Him
Where is your faith? What do you mean by asking me that question? I don’t understand what you mean. In what have you placed your faith? What are my options? You tell me. I could place my faith in what money can buy. If I had an abundance of money, I might have lots of faith and feel very secure. What would happen if you suddenly lost all your money? What would happen if you desperately needed something that money couldn’t possibly buy? That could happen. I could lose it all quite easily. Yes, you could, Money can’t buy everything. In fact you might say money can’t buy the most important things in life. That’s true. What could you also try to put your faith in? I could put my faith in power or prestige or position. How secure might those be? Those seem even less secure than money. I could lose any of those in a split second. Would wealth or power or prestige or position be of any value once you leave this life? No, they are of no value beyond this life. Then none of them are worthy of you placing your faith in them. No, they are not.
Have you placed your faith in me? Yes, I have placed my faith in you. Why have you placed your faith in me? What makes me worthy of all your faith? You left heaven. You came down to earth. You died on the cross for me. You paid for my sins. You broke the power of sin over my life. You turned my life around. You have forgiven my sins. You have cleansed me of my unrighteousness. You adopted me into your family. You made me to be your child. I can now know you. I can now live in an intimate relationship with you. You are changing me every day as I follow you. You are molding and shaping my life. You are giving me new thoughts to think, words to speak and deeds to do. I can pray to you. You will hear and answer my prayers. You have done, are doing and will do miraculous things for me. Yes, I have. Yes, I am. Yes, I will. You have made it possible for me to live a completely new life in you. My eternal life and salvation in you has already begun. Yes, it has. You are completely worthy of me placing all my faith in you. Yes, I am.
Lord, you did a miraculous work for me that changed the entire course of my life now and forever. You left heaven. You died on the cross for my sins. You rose from the dead. Now, I have a completely new life in you. I will continue to put all my faith in you. Amen
